X-rite Dtp20 Drivers For Mac
Hi, user Itaki and i have encountered a show stopping bug in the DELL branded Mac version of X-Rites 1Profiler software specific to the DELL bundles including an i1 Display. The DUCCS (Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution) doesn't detect USB connected displays, It does see the connected i1 Display hardware (funnily enough in my case connected directly to the USB hub inside the monitor) but not the monitor itself, making the whole point of this type of monitor a bit moot (ignoring 4K for a moment). This has nothing to do with Dell not supporting Apple and all that usual flaming.
This is an official DELL software provided for Apple users and it doesn't do the most basic thing - recognising the DELL display via USB. The original version straight from X-Rite works flawlessly, detecting the monitor.
Booting to Windows via Bootcamp and using the windows version of DELL USCCS works as well without complaints. This has been going on since Maverick 10.9.4 at least and continued straight to Yosemite 10.10. PLEASE restore this basic functionality.
1Profiler is no alternative, as it doesn't provide the special UP3214Q sauce, ADC, Uniformity compensation or writing settings to CAL1 and CAL2. For the advertised purpose and the money involved, that's not a reason to recommend DELL.
User Itaki has confirmed this bug on several Apple hardware with his UP2414Q. Contact me via PM for hardware details and stuff. I have the exact same problem. Replacing the display by Dell unfortunately did not solve the problem. Booting in bootcamp works flawlessly, I can calibrate with DP 1.2 switched on (some people suggested that this could be the problem). In OSX 10.10 the display can be calibrated only when connected through HDMI. This is not an option, since I only get 30Hz in 4K and the Hardware LUTs are different depending on the connection (which means, I cannot calibrate via HDMI and then use DP).
It is very frustrating not being able to use an important feature of the display (hardware calibration). I understand that it is Dells responsibility to fix the bug and possibly bring the calibration solution to version 1.5.6, which is where the official x-rite software is. Just like JSTEVENS79 at every start version 1.5.7 wants to upgrade 1.5.6. Sadly, for me it stops at Step 1 of 6 with following message: 'Could not set the display's default luminance. Error communicating with the display. Please verify the USB connection. Power cycle the display, restart the application and try again.'

That's a step forward compared to the previous available version 1.5.3. I will try different settings, but for v1.5.7 to keep asking for 1.5.6 doesn't inspire confidence, to be completely honest.
Hello Bob, Want to let you know I have it working under Windows 8 -!!! Maybe by the not familiar options for me yet of Windows 8, and my mother language is not English, I didn't follow the description exactly as written in a more early link: The faulty thing I did was that for installing the driver (“Unified 32 & 64-Bit Drivers, 98, 2000, XP, & Vista, version 3.1.0.0″), I started within safe mode. But that was wrong, in Windows 8 I had to do it like option choice '7 = installing without looking for certification'. In that mode, it did install the 64 bit driver, afterwards (and after reboot) I could use it within the X-Rite software (software installed within the programs 86 folder). The second device, DTP20 (Colorimeter for 'Pulse' software), was recognized directly (it makes use of the same driver).
